Jen McNerney is a licensed speech-pathologist in the state of Colorado and holds an American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Jen earned her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Eastern Illinois University back in 2001. With over 15 years experience working with children in the schools as well as private practice, Jen offers a wide array of clinical experience with many disorders. Jen’s special interests involve working with children on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech to name a few. Jen is the owner and director of Mindful Little Talkers LLC, and is actively undergoing training in mindfulness and meditation to add to her eclectic “therapy tool box”. Bringing holistic tools to the special needs population in an easy accessible way has become a new passion of hers.

Jen is trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT)-Level 2, DIR/Floortime Training, RDI (Relation Development Intervention), PECS trained, and Beckman Oral Motor. Jen has extensive experience collaborating and co-treating with Behavior Analysts/Therapists as well as Occupational Therapists specializing in Sensory Integration Therapy. Jen continues to attend multiple conferences to further her knowledge and clinical skills.

As a practicing speech-language pathologist, Jen treats clients with a vast array of diagnoses and disorders, yet looks at the “whole child” viewing them through a dynamic and intuitive lens. Jen enjoys utilizing her creativity and developing new and innovative ideas on a daily basis. She enjoys the flexibility of private practice because of the close connection she has with the entire family and caregiver support system. As a mother of three, she is able to provide practical carry over activities and suggestions for a busy lifestyle.
