What is PROMPT?
PROMPT stands for Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets. It is a hands-on, tactile-kinesthetic method used to help organize motor speech movements that is especially useful for clients with oral motor planning deficits (i.e. Apraxia), but is also beneficial to clients with various speech-sound disorders. The PROMPT method uses tactile cues to support and shape movements of the oral articulators in order to improve the production of individual sounds.
